GeneAmp RNA PCR kit questions

I am using the above referenced kit to look for a low copy number mRNA expressed in small cell
lung carcinoma and I am having problems getting the kit to work.  I start by DNasing the sample
with an RNase free DNase I (Boehringer Mannheim) 6U/mcg total RNA at 37C for 1 hour then heat inactivate the 
DNase to 90C x 9min. I then follow the  kit's recommendations through completion of the PCR.

Net result is nothing on the 1.5% agarose gel.

Is anybody else using this kit with success?  Any 'tricks'?
