Barry, I seem to recall reading that filtering the 10X TBE stock deters the formation of ppt. I would guess this eliminates "seed crystals". I use a 0.45 micron filter and indeed this prolongs the life of the stock (but it still often eventually forms a precipitate. rick rocket1 at bu.edu
