I use the Bio-Rad Gene Pulser for E coli, and it works fine.
Reproducible, reliable, fairly robust (it doesn't keel
over if you blow up the occasional cuvette), but the cuvettes
are pricey. Some people reuse 'em, but I've been too
lazy so far.
