Sequencing Gel Fixation

You have a fixation on sequencing gels? Maybe you should seek 
professional help! :)     Ha! Ha!

I find not fixing the sequencing gels can lead to problems so I always 
fix them even though its a pain. Not fixing them can make the gel stick 
onto the film. I've heard some people remedy this by coating the gel with 
talcum powder after its dried. I also think the bands are sharper after 
the gel has been fixed.   -George
