need help w/ phage DNA digestion!

Dear netters, 
I am facing lots of problems w/ digesting lambda gt10 DNA that I extracted
from agarose plates and liquid lysates w/ EcoR1. I am not sure why this is
happening. If any one could enlighten me with the reason it would be a
great help. The Dna prep is pretty clean and I did a couple of
Phenol/chloroform  extractions and reppted the DNA w/ sodium acetate.I
tried incubating overnight aswell .
