First, yes, blotting from 1.4% gel is somewhat inefficient. However,
you did not made yourself clear enough with respect to blotting details.
1. How long are the fragments you want to see?
2. What is the trasnfer setup?
3. Do you run a copy reconstruction control for actual sensitivity?
I can recommend UV crosslinking, since under optimal conditions it substantia-
lly increases sensitivity. Hope this helps.
