CDTA

I have been working with a DNA isolation protocol which calls for CDTA
rather
than EDTA. I wonder if anyone knows what differences in chelating
properties
etc. there might be in CDTA as opposed to EDTA. Also, is CDTA more
soluble,
solubility with respect to pH of solution etc than EDTA. The protocol
is one of the many which use silica or glass to bind DNA from solutions
of chaotropic salts (NaI, Na Perchlorate etc).

I'd appreciate any suggestions as my curiosity is piqued.
