Alkaline PFGE

I am vaguly aware that some people have been using a variation of 
"normal" PFGE involving alkaline pH to detect DNA single-strand breaks or 
DNA-protein crosslinks.  I was wondering if anyone could point me in the 
appropriate direction for published protocols, or if you have an 
unpublished protocol that works well that you would be willing to share, 
I would love to hear from you.  Thanks for the help.
