use of spermidine to remove DNA from prot. solutions

Someone in my lab is interested in purifying an E. coli expressed myosin
fragment. She wants to use spermidine to remove contaminating nucleic acids
from the protein preparation, but can't find a protocol. If someone has such
a protocol or can suggest a reference, we'd be very grateful. Thanks.
