PVP, Microwavable?

In a DNA extraction that I use i need 0.5% agarose, 1% PVP 10,000
(polyvinylpyrolidone) in TPE buffer. My question is when I melt the agar I
use a microvave,  would adding PVP and microvaving it have any effect on the
PVP ore am I just being paranoid?  Any answers would be appreciated.
