semliki forest virus

hello. i picked up on sue jeffrey's contribution to this thread. if you would
like to use semliki forest for eukaryotic expression, why wait for BRL? You
can get SFV vectors from Garoff, a pioneer in this stuff. However, he is in
Sweden. Alternatively, our lab and Sondra Schlessinger's here at Wash U have
developed Sindbis virus expression constructs from a related alphavirus. I
don't have the ref. real handy, but try looking up a paper by Frolov and
Schlessinger for more information.

p.s. i have seen coomassie-stainable levels of expression using Sindbis.
