Formaldehyde Inactivation

Several people have told me that they treat formaldehyde with glycine to
render it innocuous prior to disposal.  This seems very sensible
chemically, but I haven't been able to find it published anywhere.  I need
a reference since our ES&H people don't seem to understand chemistry very
well, but are very comfortable with trails of paper.  Has anyone seen this
described in writing
