| Would anybody have the genotype of the E. coli strain S17.1 or S17 which
| contains the transfer functions of R4 integrated into the chromosome.
| Grateful for ay info as we wish to use it for conjugaton experiments.

47055 - Escherichia coli S17-1
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ATCC NO. [NO]: 47055

ORGANISM [SP]: Escherichia coli

STRAIN [SN]: S17-1

MARKERS [MA]:
  tmpR, spcR, strR

GENOTYPE [GT]:
  recA pro hsdR RP4-2-Tc::Mu-Km::Tn7

DEPOSITORS [DP]:
  D.M. Parke

REFERENCES [RF]:
  Biotechnology 1: 784-791, 1983 (G00-383-714)
  J. Microbiol. Meth. 6: 301-305, 1987

DESCRIPTION [DS]:
The properties of streptomycin, trimethoprim, and spectinomycin
  resistance were verified. (ATCC staff)
Recommended mobilization host for pARO180, pARO190, pARO181, and
pARO191 (ATCC 77123-77126, respectively) because it contains
chromosomally integrated tra genes. RP4-Tc::Mu-Km::Tn7 is integrated
into the chromosome. (Gene (Amst.) 93: 135-137, 1990)
