Pipetters

I am planning on buy a series of pipetters covering the range from a few 
microliters to 1 mL.  While everyone I know seem to have the standard 
Gilson pipetters (from Rainin), do people have experience with other 
brands (i.e., cheaper but equivalent brands)?  Also, has anyone used the 
motorized pipetters from Rainin (the edp-2 line)?  They seem to be only 
slightly more expensive than the standard mechanical sort but could be 
more pleasant to use.
