DNA isolation from bone

Dear Netters,

One of my colleagues want to isolate DNA for PCR and fingerprinting from a 
horse bone, which is about ten years old. Nothing has been done to the bone 
yet, so we are unsure about the preservation of the bone marrow. 

I would be delighted if someone could provide me with a good well tried 
protocol for DNA isolation.
