In situ on single bacteria?

Hi all, 
	I am posting this on behalf of a colleague who doesn't have bionet 
access. I will forward responses to him. 

Does anyone know of in situ hybridisation (and/or in situ PCR) being used to 
detect single bacteria eg. by probing for antibiotic resistance genes?

sorry if the question seems vague but this is a way out of my field...
Any references, comments, etc. gratefully received
