Rather than continuing with your current method, try designing a 
primer set interior to your current primers if specificity is your goal. 
You'll achieve an increase in sensitivity as well, due to the 
exclusion of competing non-specific templates that may be binding 
your first (outer) primer pair, making the overall process more 
efficient.
