Dear colleagues:
I recently saw an inquiry in this newsgroup about frozen competent yeast cells.
For the past year and a half I have been using a kit from Zymo Research to make
highly competent yeast cells that can be frozen and used as needed. The kit is
very easy to use and brings the convenience of frozen competent cells that
people are used to when working with E coli to yeast. The kit apparently works
not only with S. cerevisiae, but also with S. pombe and C. albicans. You can
get in touch with Zymo Research at Zymo at kaiwan.com for more info.
