Dear All,
   I wonder if someone could enlighten me as to the reason for adding
   beta-mercaptoethanol to buffers in an attempt to maintain a proteins
   stability/function/folding etc.  and if it is to maintain a proteins
   folding in a functional state then why is it included in some denaturing
   gel sample buffer? Thanks to all Robert
