We had a problem with the 373 too, due to an electric shortcut in the 
system which did a reset on the photomultiplier settings. As a result, 
the signals were too weak to interpret and resulted in almost unusable 
results. Everything was fine again after reprogramming. Since your 
mistake disappeared by itself and an ABI sequencing reaction worked fine, 
it would argue against this. However, you might want to consider this.
