dna extraction from seeds?

I have done pcr from DNA from dead Arabidopsis seeds with reasonable 
success (single experience-we fooled with surface sterilizn on CSH
course and apparently pushed too far). We used Edwards NAR 19:1349'1991
protocol possibly with one extra organic xtrn. I don't recall.
