This GFP buisness is really puzzling
here is a thought: is it possible that mycoplasma could be responsible for
rapid degradation of the GFP protein? In my experience the cells we used (SV40
transformed human fibroblasts) did not seem to be infected (by PCR) but maybe a
tiny amount of it would be enough. That would be a good reason as to why people
have expression while other do not using the same cells.
Does anyone knows about proteins whose expression or stability is highly
suceptible to mycoplasma?
