The half-life of CAT mRNAs and proteins

It is believed that chloramphenicol acetyl-transferase (CAT) mRNA is
unstable while CAT protein is rather stable.  Could anyone provide me with
the references that document this?  A search on Medline has been
unsuccessful, but I am sure that someone somewhere has measured the
half-life of CAT mRNAs and proteins.
