Ligation problem

I've been told by rival companies that residual NaI left by products like
GeneClean can inhibit ligations (esp. blunt-end).
I use Glass Max, though, which also has NaI, and I have no prblem with
ligation into TA vectors. NaI solutions can go bad if exposed to light ,
however, so you might check this.
For blunt end fragments, I add an A to each end with a little bit of Taq
and a short incubation at 72 degrees -- call Invitrogen, they'll send you
a one-page protocol for this.
