How specific is V8 protiase?

Through blood sweat and tears we have managed to get a few
peptide sequences from our pet protein, but only form V8 protiase
digests.

I'm now trying to PCR up cDNA using degenerate primers.
Now since V8 selectivly cleaves on the carboxyl side of aspartic and
glutamic acid residues I'm wondering if V8 is specific enough for
me to put a GAN (G/E) codon at the N terminal of my primers, and
if anyone has any references to this sort of thing being done?
