Try 1 microliter of Pelican India ink per ml of Tris or Phosphate-buffered saline containing 0.2% Tween 20. It even stains bands on blots after they have been blocked with BSA and ovalbumin and incubated with antibodies. Wash with water to get rid of the excess stain.
