Phenol distillation

Roy Dace was wondering about phenol distillation.

Personally, I've always redistilled any liquified phenol no matter who the
supplier was.  If it doesn't have a yellowish tinge, however, it's probably
okay.  Oxidation can be greatly retarded by storing it with a rather deep
layer of the saturating buffer or DEPC-treated H20 above it.
