Electrophoresis Gel?

One may take bacteriological grade agar - preweigh the amount used - add
DI water and magnetic stir bar - place on stirrer - change water every 24
hrs - do this for seven or more days - allow agar to settle - decant off
water - reconstitute with required buffer - and prepare electrophoresis
gel .  I keep some going all the time, some has washed as long as two
years - equal to agarose, except in cost.
