Sticky DNA after Hind III-Why?

Does anyone know/or can provide a educated guess as to why genomic DNA,
when digested with Hind III, smears down the side of the tube after
precipitation (standard sodium acetate/ethanol) and spining, while other
REs give nice pellets? This is not a problem, just curiosity.
Is it because of the buffer, the enzyme, interactions with the salt?
All answers gratefully read.
Thanks
