SYBR and gel staining

To use SYBR G 1 correctly post-staining is the most sensitive approach.
You can also add the dye to the DNA sample in the loading buffer. The
final dye concentration must be 1:10000 or you will get retardation of
the DNA possibly even reverse migration.
You can add the dye to the gel during casting but you'll use a great deal
more dye and your DNA will migrate strangely.
