How long would it take to clone a gene from a plasmid?

Netters,
I wonder if someone would be so kind as to indicate how long it would take a
reasonably skilled person to confirm the presence of a gene on a suspected
plasmid with an oligo probe by Southern blot analysis and clone a gene/gene
fragment from a plasmid (given no unusual problems) given the following:
1. A similar gene from a related bacterium was already sequenced and the
sequence was available,
2. A pair of primer sequences, either for PCR or for use as oligo probes,
were determined on day 1 using a Primer software program.
3. The plasmid, of about 20-kb, was already available (i.e., purified) and
previously correlated with loss of phenotypic expression by
curing.
Thank-you,
Peter
p.s. - This is not for myself but to illustrate a point to someone else.
Thanks.
