SPR independent translocation into ER

Hi 

Proteins can enter the ER by two pathways, one is dependent on the 
signal recogniction particle and GTP, the other is dependent on ATP 
and hsc70. Does anyone out there know specific requirements 
of proteins whether they take one or the other patwhay, despite the 
overall length of the peptide (large by SRP dependent and small by
SRP independent mechanism)?
