Transfection of E1a/ras transformed cells?

Has anyone tried to transfect E1a/Ha-ras transformed cells?
I did not get any ß-gal activity after transfecting a Tk-ß-Gal
plasmid in five different Clones. I used standard Ca-phosphate transfection.
However, transfection of other transformed lines e.g. p53/Ha-ras
or HPV-16/Ha-ras worked well.
Has anybody got any good ideas about this effect?
