I use RNazol (4M GITC/sodium acetate) for extracting brain RNA and it works fine. However, liver and lung preparations end up with a degraded smear on formaldehyde gel. I vaguely remember someone posting that one could increase the GITC to 5M and liver RNA is OK. Could someone confirm or instruct otherwise, best wishes Tim Cullingford
