Lambda DNA extraction.

Does anyone have a good protocol for isolating large quantities of
lambda DNA with minimal or no contaminating bacterial nucleic acids?
I have tried several different methods with varying success including
column purification with DEAE-cellulose as per Current/Short Protocols
(extremely variable results).  My last resort is to buy a Promega kit!
