If my memory serves, slica based DNA isolation kits have trouble with "small" pieces. I don't remember just what the cutoff is but I have had great success with EluQuick from S&S. It might also suffer from the small size however. An agarase seems like it might be the best way to go. Richard Daines rdaines at aol.com
