Ascorbic acid solution

Does anyone know if there are any special problems in making the above.
We are going to use it to supplement medium for tissue culture - I thought
make it up in the medium - if it will dissolve - this should give suitable
buffering etc. Or will it be OK made up in water?
Keep the solution out of the light?
Make it up fresh each time ie it is unstable in solution? - or can I freeze
it in aliquots at -70?
