MCF-7 cells and transfection

I want to transfect MCF-7 cells with the DEAE-dextran-method, and the
trouble is that the cells loosen from the plastic during incubation with
DEAE-dextran/DNA.

I wonder if anybody else has tried this transfection-method on MCF-7
cells, and how you made it work or if it worked at all?
Is transfection with lipofectamine a better alternative for this cell-line?
