Catrimox-14 and CTAB for RNA extraction

Does any body have experience doing a RNA precipitation of RNA prior the 
extraction procedure or something similar using CTAB or Catrimox-14?
(for eliminating inhibitory substances)

I am doing extraction of RNA to detect HAV (hepatitis A virus) in 
molluskand I need to know how it works.
