I'm a post-doc in Ken Keegstra's lab, where we study import of proteins
into chloroplasts. The grinding buffer we use contains the following:
50 mM HEPES-KOH, pH 7.3
330 mM sorbitol
0.1% bovine serum albumin, fraction V
1 mM MgCl2
1 mM MnCl2
2 mM Na2EDTA
We don't normally include glutathione or isoascorbate, but if they're
added, we don't bother to adjust the pH after the addition.
