there is an ester of acrylic acid with silane that makes polyacrylamide
stick to glass gel plates (e.g. Fluka 64210). We use it to make
ultrathin IEF gels easy to handle. Now the question: is there a way to
get the gel off the plate without destroying it?
It is the same material that is being used in the old Pharmacia
sequencing apparatus with the thermostatised plate, so people who use
this might know...
