Sequencing PCR poduct w/ PRISM

Has anyone had good results sequencing PCR product directly with the 
Perkin-Elmer Prism Ready Reaction DyeDeoxy Terminator Cycle sequencing kit??
The protocol is written for sequencing from plasmid but I wondered if I 
should modify it when trying to sequence directly from PCR product.  I'd 
appreciate any input on this.
