Eric,
the answer depends very much how thick your gels are. With completely
dried 0.5 mm gels there is almost no difference between 32P and 33P,
where intensity is concerned. However, the latter becomes increasingly
weak when anything separates the gel from the film. In a wet gel of the
same thickness (0.5 mm) the difference is about 5-fold, and will be
greater with thicker gels. Using 33P with 1.5.mm gels is plain
impractical.
