PCR is a nice technique if you want to identify exactly wich type of
mycoplasma is contaminating your cultures. If you are merely interested
in testing your cultures for mycoplasma, I reccomend looking at
Freshney's book on cell culture. There are much easier, and more direct
methods. A simple nuclear stain will tell you if there are contaminating
species in your culture.
