killer gene in yeast

I do not know if you have an absolute requirement for using a killer
gene from an ectopic organism, but if this is not a concern, yeast
already own a killer gene.  It is called URA3.  Adding 5-fluorourotic
acid (5-FOA) to growth media kills yeast quite effectively.
