Discrepancy between OD-value on spec and DNA on agarose gel

	Do you have access to a flourometer? It uses a dye similar to EtBr, which
intercalates into the DNA and flouresces.  It won't "see" RNA or
polysaccharides, both of which could be contaminating your sample.  If you
don't have access to a flourometer, then I would suggest going by what you see
on the gel incomparison with a known loading of Lamda Hindiii/ecori, or a
comprable marker.
