A postdoc position is available for a period of two years in the Gene Transfer
and Expression Group at the Auckland research site of the Horticulture and
Food Research Institute of New Zealand Ltd. The successful applicant will join
a team of young, enthisiastic and highly motivated researchers, primarily
carrying out research projects in fruit tree transformation and the molecular
biology of early fruit development and fruit ripening. The position will be
involved in a programme developing site-specific recombination systems for
gene targeting in plants and the use of transposons for transgene relocation
in transgenic plants. Applicants should have a good knowledge of plant
molecular biology and experience with transposons and/or gene gun
transformation technology would be an advantage. Applications and requests for
