Dear ..

        Well..i used to use Pet series with His tag on it..
and i use Bl21DE3 as a expression cells..
as far as i know..BL21DE3 is optimized for expression..
but you will get most efficient protein expression in BL21DE3 or
that kind of expression cells than DH5alpha or XL-1 Blue or NovaBlue..

i always got at least 1 g of protein expressed in pet vector/BL21de3
in 50 ml TB culture..

and i think that is problem in expression vector in your case..
