DNA Prep for PCR from bacterial spores ?

We want to detect Bacillus globigii spores by PCR 
amplification. For preparing the DNA for PCR we do  
repeated freeze/thaw cycles. We are looking for better 
method other than the freeze/thaw procedure. We 
wish to know if anybody has other DNA preparation 
methods suitable for bacterial spores and subsequent 
PCR amplification.
