Invitrogen's ecdysone-inducible system

I see that Invitrogen's 1997 catalogue describes an inducible system for
mammalian cells using ecdysone as the trigger. Does anyone have any
experience with it? Any idea how it compares to the various tet-inducible
systems in terms of background, inducibility, expense, and general
docility?

Thanks for any comments.
